Week 2 High Performance Winners
Indo based 13yr old Westen Hirst @westen_hirst was a standout in the 2020 Video Challenge and this week dropped a stunning video full of perfect waves and a performance standard that blew our minds.
His deep tube riding, powerful rail gauges and lofty airs meant we couldn’t go past his video as the High Performance Video of the week.
He will receive a prize pack from SPY Optic @spyoptic
For the younger divisions we couldn’t go past Terevanui Thornton @teahupoogrom an 8yr old from Teahupoo Tahiti who is showing all the signs of potential greatness, he surfs with great style and maturity beyond his young years. Congratulations mate. He will receive a prize pack from Hurley @hurley
In the Girls we had three finalists Leihani Zoric @theminishakas from Byron Bay and in the girls 10s but hasn’t even turned 9 yet, Catalina Zariqueiy @catalinazariquiey from Peru girls 12s, and Chesney Guinotte @chesney_guinotte Hawaii girls 12s, and we couldn’t split them so sent it out to Instagram to let the public decide. Head over to our instagram and vote for your favourite clip!! All 3 young ladies were impressive last year and strongly recognised and are at it again this year. They’ll never capture the beauty or biome boosting effects of the ocean, but they allow tor impressive technical progress and for those who are landlocked, they let the froth & stoke of surfing flow!
