You grommets continue to amaze us!
Just when we think the standard of surfing, stoke and progression couldn’t get any higher, you guys prove us wrong.
In our first three weeks of the BL Blast Off video challenge, we’ve had entries in from all across the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Bali, South Africa, Spain, France, Portugal, Costa Rica, Wales, the Mentawaii’s, the Canary Islands and Japan.
We are so stoked to be expanding our Blast Off family globally. Watching you kids evolve your surfing and being there to cheer you on is what we live for.
Keep ripping grommets.

BL's Tip Of The Week
“It has been said that the best surfer is the one with the biggest smile on their face and the thing we know for sure is that the better you get the more fun you have.
This is why at Blast Off our focus is on coaching and improving and not winning or losing, it doesn’t matter your current standard or level because with the experience and effort tomorrow you will be a different surfer and our focus is always on enjoying the ride.
The feeling of surfing a wave is like no other and given that every single wave and moment is different you can never get bored or stop learning and growing.
If your focus is on how great that feeling is and enjoying it you are creating the most fertile ground for your surfing to grow upon.
So get your froth on groms and enjoy the ride.”
What we learnt this week
This week we learnt that stoke comes in all different shapes and sizes and from all corners of the globe, and while our event has received some good support from the surfing media, it is the kids and families out there that are feeling us and joining in. This grass roots momentum and stoke is what Blast Off is all about and the way we grow our community, so from me to you thank you for being a part and sharing your stoke.
Music rights is still an issue and we all have to respect the artists copyright.
Imagine you are a musician and feed your family through your music and then somebody uses your song to their own advantage without rewarding you, kinda like stealing food from your table. There is plenty of copyright free music that we can access for our videos by googling “free music for youtube” or “copyright free music” etc and by doing this we are showing respect and doing the right thing.
Also when signing up and submitting a video it is your kids name and date of birth that we need, if you are sharing about the Blast Off with other people can you please share these two bits of info with them to help us along the way.
Thank you all.
